Where should I tap to get power?

Default Where should I tap to get power?

I need to tap a power wire that is only hot when the ignition is turned on, and can support my two LED headlamps. I don't feel like wiring a switch all the way inside the car and I don't want to wire it into the headlamps or parking lamps.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I guess I'm confused, the lowbeams are only hot when the ignition is turned on, are you tryin to wire up the LED's seperately?

if you're putting in led lamps what's wrong with the original headlamp wires? There's also a relay/fuse box under the hood right up by the windshield driver's side. A test light will do wonders.

These kind of LED's. The low beams are only hot when the light is turned on. Only two wires going to the lows, a ground and hot.

I'll check the fuse box, never noticed it, must be under one of the covers.

Ohhh gotcha. Sorry man, didn't really know what you were gettin at. So you wanna be able to run the LED's completely independent of the low beams right? Just a shot in the dark, but how about the radiator fan lead, that's only hot when the key is on, right?
