i have stock 16 inch rims and i was wondering if it is possible to get 17 inch or even 18 inch wheels but with lower profile tires and still have the speedometer working correctly? could someone explain to me how this stuff works?

Generally, the bigger the wheels, the lower profile tires you would want to use.

In recap, usually 17's use 45 - 18's use 40 - and 19's use 35; you should get the basic idea.

Here's also a website that will tell you exact calculations: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

so if i was to get 17" with 45 or 18" with 40 my speedometer will work the way it works with my stock wheels if they are 16" with 50 profile? i will have to go and check the exact measurements of my tires tomorrow

I'm running 225/40/18's and my speedo is only off by about 1 MPH!

Yep do it this way:

225-45-17
225-40-18
...and so on.

My 235-35-19s are off by 0.8mph at 60mph.

Take it one of three ways:

1 - I'm trying to reinforce my point
2 - my iPhone stutters
3 - I'm trying to get my post count up above 7000 more quickly.

The double post will now stand. Hater
