What's the thing in the rear fenderwell called?
Hey all:
Got a question: 99.5 A4 2.8. There's a component of the evaporation control system located behind the fender liner on the driver's rear. I think it's called the EVAP pump, but I'm not at all sure. Is this the correct name for the part?
Secondly, how on earth do you test it to see if it's working correctly?
Thanks!

If you search you'll find what your looking for.You can take off some lines in the evap system and seeif you still have pressure in the system a couple minutes after shuting off the car.Theres a tank under the front driverfender alsowith a 1/2' hose going over to the evap under the hoodwhen you remove or unhook that line you should have an escape of air if not. Then I would think you have a bad line or pumps going.Do some searching I found some good info before when I replaced all the lines under the hood.
