Not all S4's have woodgrain trim. And would you honestly let something that could so easily be changed deter you from buying one?

A4's get better gas milage with a 1.8t and have the potential to be a fast and comfortable car. Not to mention the S4 has ugly woodgrain trim [:'(]

the s4's you can find for that price are older and gona be breaking down a lot more and be way more expensive. insurance and gas is higher. not to mention at that price a vr6 swapped a4 is possible.

RE: whats the point of buying an a4?
i got my a4 cause at the time i had 2 cars i had to sell/trade..... so i couldn't go private.... also at the time i was driving 700 miles a week and with premium at over $3 a gallon the 2.7t just wasn't fessable........ now i don't do that kind of driving, but if for some reason i do start doing it again.... i will have the a4 and 2- 2.7t's
one will be the wife's a6-haven't bought yet, and my s4,haven't bought yet either
gotta pay off the a4 first

I bought mine becuase my Toyota Celica GT-S was having problems, I had looked for an A4 in the past but couldn't find the right one. Then I found the 99.5 for 7100 already lowered and with the 18s so I bought it because it seemed maintained and I was wrong on that part haha but its been a fun car

Why an A4?
1. In Canada S4's are more expensive and harder to find. B5 S4's are not admissible for import, while all A4's are. Strangley enough B6 and B7 S4's are though.
2. I needed a reliable DD, so I bought a 2.8 30v QM. I also see crazy snow and ice and -25 F once this year so quattro was awesome for me.
3. Wanted a good balance of luxury and sportiness aswell, A4 fits for me, way nicer interior than BMW's or other comparables IMO.
4. I already have a turbo RX-7 that's faster thanmost S4's, handles better (not being cocky, it's just true;over 350whp,weighs about 800lbs less, has near 50/50 fr distribution, 17x9 w/rays forged rims, lsd, built for fast spool/early boost, pulls past 7500 redline...blah blah, you get the idea) and at a much lesser cost to me since I do my own work. Although beautifull cars, S4's are pretty expensive to get fast, something like 10,000 for thecomplete built-right stage3if I'm correct? I could buy a three rotor engine with supporting mods and have 500-600whp for that.
But as I implied in the beginning if I could get a clean US S4, I totally would!

I got mine cause it was a steal of a deal. '01 1.8T Quattro 5-speed w/134000 miles in jan 12, 2008. Priced at over 12000, got it for 6000. If i was to turn around and sell it now. I would get more money from the car than i spent on it. Plus, after 1.5 years of searching for a car, it was the best deal i've probably seen. I saw better deals before, but they were either fake or gone by the time I got to it.
