Default What are these components? Pics attached

I inherited my daughters 99 A4 B5 2.8 about a year ago and signed on and have lurked for some time now. Many thanks to the members of this forum for their posts on how to keep these cars running. My A4 had several issues and thanks to this forum I have been able to correct many of those issues. I still have an issue with the P0411 code and am working on the first step which is replacing all braided vacuum tubing. I have VagCom as well. Still need to determine if I can delete the SAI pump on an A4B5 2.8. I think its not working

I have included two pics that I need some help with. The black tube cracked several times when I installed a new steering pump. Thanks Bill

Can't answer the first question, but the second picture is your valve cover/crank case vent tube. Many people have done the exact same thing as you, and just taped it, because that tube is over $100

You can delete the SAP only if you have no emissions testing at inspection - you'll fail for an incorrect airflow CEL code.

Thanks. We don't have inspections here in AL. Is there a way to keep the code from returning?

I have heard of people wiring up the harness with jumpers and resisters and such but I do not know anyone personally who has done it. I just check my codes at every oil change to make sure it isn't anything else.
