Default what size straightpipe?

i am going to have my car straightpiped from the cat back. my flex pipe is shot so i will also be replacing that with whatever size pipe i go with. my car is a stock 2001 a4 1.8t. (stock except for a forge splitter). anyway, what size piping should i go with? i was thinking 3 inch but i dont want to lose any torque since my motor is almost completely stock. maybe 2 3/4? all suggestions are appreciated. -thanks

You should buy that Milltek 2.75" system that FasterA4ThanUrs is selling.

Why do people assume that the flex pipe serves no purpose?

Please don't remove your flex pipe.

Guy if this is a daily your going to hate it after a few weeks. buy a magnaflow and make it sound right.

depends on what your goals are. if you plan on a big turbo down the road get the 3", if not 2.5" is plenty

I am not removing it and never said I was. I am going to replace it with the same size as the piping that I get.

Is this car your DD? Straight pipe with no muffler/resonator is going to drone somethin' fierce.
