Default what to get a 6 year old girl for her birthday?

I am attending a family friend's ,birthday party for a 6 year old girl,i have no clue, what to get the little one.

Can anyone with children, chime in and give some suggestions?

These kids these days, are so tech savvy,i was actually thinking of buying a iPod touch, for her.

Do you guys think,an iPod touch is too complicated,a device for a child of 6 years old or is that fine?

I've known my friend for years and his family,i am friends with them all,so i am no stranger but i don't really come in contact with the child,so i don't know, what she likes.

Best bet is to call the family and ask what she's into. iPod touch is probably fine, but you could look at a Kindle Fire too.

Nah my brother is 6 and he uses his ipod touch all day. Surprising actually takes care of it too. I think an ipod touch would be a great gift.

Thanks for the suggestions fellas,i end up buying her a Pink Pearl Nintendo 3DS with Mario world.

Lemme tell ya...birthday gifts,for children has become a expensive,proposition.

The cost of the nintendo 3DS was $169.99 and the Mario World game was $39.99 plus 6.3500% CT. sales Tax $13.33 for a total of $223.31

The days of getting a 6 year old,a Doll is over.

Meh,its worth it to see a child's face,light up!

Being i don't have any children yet,i try to make others children, smile whenever i get the chance.

personally i think an ipod is a little too much to be spending on a 6 year old, especially if you arent related. maybe its just cause i am from the midwest but i would go with a more modest gift. you could always do the safe route and get a 100$ savings bond however good luck getting the chinese to pay her when she turns 18

gotta go with Devil on this one. Find out what she is into. My little on is seven and is perfectly happy with dolls and princess crap. She has a DS that she literally never uses. It is one thing to spend (a lot of) money on a cool gift but if it is something she is not going to be interested in, it is kind of pointless.

You're a great guy buddy! I'm glad she's enjoying her DS.

6% sales tax isn't bad at all. Try 9.75%.
