Default What was the first year of the 4.2 V8?

I know this is a b5 area but I own a b5 and I figured I would ask you all this question. I want to buy a second AWD car and I want a 4.2 S4 manual. If not my second choice is a Volvo V70R. It just depends but I prefer the V8 S4. They sound great!

It was '03. The last TT2.7 was '02. But you can also find the 4.2 in A8s and S8s from the early 2000s

Thanks. I like the A4 I am just not fond of the rear end on the B6. I would buy a B7 but I would be broke for 5 years. HAHAHA It is DAMN good looking though! I would do a V8 swap on mine but I don't want to do all that work. I would have to pay for the fabricated mounts because I cant do that myself. I hate to say it but I am leaning towards a 98-01 Volvo V70R. They are pretty nice. I love the huge tail lights and the boxy wagon look. I am also quite fond of the price tag on the older V70Rs.

I cant find any other Audi car with the 4.2 and a manual transmission. Just the S4.

07-08 RS4 and the R8 would probably have manuals haha. If you don't like the B6 rear end, look for an avant. The B6 is possibly the best looking wagon ever.

I researched it before. The only thing in common between the 4.2 in the S4 and the 4.2 in the RS4 is the displacement...

My current goal in my life is to upgrade to the B6 S4 (the *** on that thing is sexy as hell), then eventually get an 07 RS4 once the price comes down a little more, and I make a little more money...

If u think audis are bad on electronics then u should see 2000-2006 volvos , i had for a brief time a 01 s80 tt and man that thig was a nightmare and after a lot of research i went and trade the POS for a kia just to get rid of that thing so before u decide just go and do some digging about the volvos and there problems and maybe u will figure'it out that a ford is better then an year 2000 volvo

I know that, he just said he wanted a 4.2 and manual, those cars can offer that. I said "haha" at the end as I doubt he could afford either otherwise he'd probably already own one and not a B5 A4.
