for all of us who have a manual trany how much engagement do you have at the top from where it starts to grab to where your all the way out
i have about 2 or 3 inches from start to end
and i cant stall my car on flats it hard
what do you have just want to compare

^^ lol. I think he was just talking about the worlds longest run-on sentence ha, ha. Anyways, I noticed that the clutch on these cars is a lot different than other cars that I've had. It doesn't grab until you're almost all the way out, and in 1st, you have to give it a perfect combination of gas and disengagement speed. If you don't, the car stutters a little.

 

yea its a pretty long clutch... ive never taken a ruler to measure the distance but its longer than most cars lol

 

unless i F***ed something up on my car my clutch engages almost immediatly like half way up. by buddys a4 used to have the long engagement but after he got a new tranny and clutch his car engages at the same point as me. my other buddys 90 quattro has the long *** engagemnet point.

yeah mines about half way as well but I like how it just HITS you know.. on my moms focus (which i had to drive today :/ ) it has such a soft, long engagement, non hydraulic clutch and before i get used to it I come close to stalling it.. but the actual distance the pedal travels is MUCH less. It prob goes a good 2-4 inches from top to floor. I like the audi SO much better. I can go from fuckus to audi no problem, but audi to fuckus sucks!
