Exclamation What do i NEED to Correctly Lower my car!?

So i bought a set of H&R Sport lowering springs, i thought i coul just swap them over with the Oem ones on my car and be able to lower it without any issues. But now I went out asking who will install them they told i shouldnt lower my car, That my Camber is gonna go bad and nobody was able to help me find a way to fix that... So what do i do?

Is just changing over my stock springs for the HR springs not a good idea?

As The lowering gurus say

Camber doesnt kill tires, toe does.

Springs will not effect either as much, because they dont go too low. However if you have coils or bags and flat out dump your car, then you will have lots of neggy camber. Just install them, and get some independent shop or someone you really trust to do an alignment. I paid 120 at the dealer for an alignment, and had my dad look at it when my passenger front wore fast. Turns out the car was out of spec.

I don't think you'd have much issue with just sport springs.. and installation is really easy, I wouldn't pay someone to do it

I don't know how the struts are on these cars, but for other cars I've owned, it was always recommended to match some aftermarket struts when you install lowering springs. I heard that Bilstein sport or Koni yellows are a really good choice. I have Eibach pro-kit springs and pro-dampers on my car and the ride is stiff, but not too bad. Eibach is cheaper, but not as good as the others I mentioned. As far as camber, don't worry about it as long as you get a good toe alignment like was mentioned already and your tires should wear pretty evenly. If you have the time to do it yourself, you can save yourself a lot of money.

its true camber and toe will swollow tires. Just shreded a set of sumitomos on my d&d mk3 do to exsesive lowering and camber. Anyway sport springs wont huurt you camber or toe to badly. But anytime you have a car apart and the means to replace do it. I promise at some piont you
have it all back out again anyway its an audi guy. And your better off if your mechanicly inclined to do it your self.

Jesus dude, I saw your PM this morning with your cell number. I've been at work since 6, and I'll text you or call you when I can get a few minutes to talk. Lighten up - do you have any idea how many goddamn Audi-related PMs and emails I get? I turned off the email notification feature for threads and PMs because my phone was smoking by mid-morning.

I am more than happy to help but you gotta realize that a 50 hour work week, a family with three kids (oldest being 7), and the constant 20-hour-a-day barrage of email/text/phone call/PM contact means there's only so much I can get to at one time and it isn't always at the drop of a hat.

oh man,i am so sorry,i honestly wasn't being pushy or being unpantient, its just that i pm'd you atleast 4 or 5 times and never got a reply from one pm from you,my only choice was to quote to you on another thread.

I had no idea you turned pm messages off, either. I understand your situation more now,i'm also going through some things,Audina(my 01 A4 B5 awm) won't shift into 4rd gear and needs a another tranny,i am stressed about that. I'll wait for your call.

P.S. Sorry original poster,i hope you got your issue addressed
