What to do engine while it's out?
#21
Does anybody know a site/link with all parts I'm gonna need? I wanna make sure I buy everything I need before I send my engine to local engine shop and find out I don't have everything. Also what do you guys think about a southbend stage 2 clutch for my setup? I'm gonna be buying a bigger turbo in 2-3 weeks since my pay from new job is alot more than I thought I would be making.

I would tell them to order everything they need if you don't know what to order. They are going to be calling you every day with something else they need. You can't really tell until you get in there really. Obviously you can order the bulk of the parts but the shop will need a few things.

Thanks redline. I was just making sure there was nothing else I needed. So far I got $2,177 for parts including a new clutch in there. But that doesn't include exhaust valves and those small parts yet.

Already had those planned into the list. This is what I have so far without what you just said.
Front main seal
Rear main seal
Cam seals
Oil filter housing gasket
Oil pump chain tensioner
Main bearing set
Thrust washers
Rod bearings
Front crank seal
Throttle body gasket
Head gasket
Intake manifold gasket
Valve cover gasket
Rear crank seal
Dipstick funnel, already have brand new dipstick
Magnetic oil drain plug
JE pistons with eagle rods
Wrist pins - comes with the JE pistons
Oil pick up
Oil pump
Coated bearings
Hot tank & home
New rings - comes with the JE pistons
Coated main
Main studs
Head studs
Crank bearings
Exhaust valves
Valves
Valve stem seals
Southbend stage 2 clutch
Locks - included in JE pistons
Rod bolts - think is included with JE pistons not exactly sure
Clean motor - you think $85 is good enough?
Bore - $80?
Thrust bearing
That's what I have so far.

looking good. i see coated bearings just make sure you get coated main and coated rod bearings if your going to be doing all this.
Hot tank and hone up my way is 120 for both including heads. Look up good machine shops around your way get some quotes.

use coated rod and coated main. coated wil cause less friction which is nice but they are good incase the engine is starved for oil the coating will allow them to last a bit with no oil before they get eaten away. for the extras money its worth it.
