What brake pads do I buy in this situation?

It's easy/cheap enough to do. If it's not air in the system, there must be a much larger issue at work. I don't know how safe it is to drive, but if you want help and can make it over to Kirkland, I'd be happy to take a look at it with you.

for what it's worth, this Rob guy seems to have the exact same issue, and more importantly, can explain it better.
He explains how he fixed it at the end, and how the issue involved a newly rebuilt rear caliper which I DO have. I never would have thought a "new" caliper would have caused the issue, especially on the rear brake, but there you go.
Anyway, I'll get home and try bleeding and this caliper issue-fix and get back.

Also, I appreciate the offer to help in person immensely. Having only owned this car for 9-ish months, I have mostly been reverting to forum/online help when I have an issue and it's been great.

christ... it was just air all along. i still have no clue how air got in there when i never cracked the bleeder valve, but it did.
