Default Whale noise?

97 a4 1.8tq... Gettin a whale like air noise when I let off the gas when turbo is spooling? Everything is tight no vac/pressure leaks... Just wondering if anyone has had the same noise and if its nuthin to worry about. Does not seem to be affecting performance. From what I can tell while driving it seems to be comin from drivers side maybe intercooler area

It's your diverter valve. Did you just get the car or install a cold air intake?

I've had the car... Just put in a new k03, dv, mbc, bosch ecm, and new pressure/vac lines. I do have a filter charger not an intake. Also was wonderin if k&n filter has sth to do with the noise since it already messed with my ecu and maf numbers makin me get the MBC.

With all those new parts you're probably getting the boost that probably was being leaked by one of the parts you replaced.

Be careful with the mbc.

So, basically that is the normal sound for the stock style DV? I still have not put in a boost gauge. I'm searchin for the best look. How dangerous is that overboost bucking or jerking? Just wondering cuz we went through a lot of it the past 6 weeks troubleshooting this car?

Too much boost and you'll lean out and the engine will go kaboom.

if that is true its the oil on the k&n that got on your MAF that screwed with your numbers. clean it off and you wont need the mbc. and yea be careful with the boost.

Yes... But that is while audis have overboost limit and it cuts out and gives you hard bucking. Was wondering if the bunch of times it happened when testing if it causes wear n' tear?

is your car chipped? i only get jerking if i pass 14psi so im at 11-12psi with no jerking, after i get my car chipped i should be able to get around 18+ psi im probly going to get a K04 soon too

also u might want to get an aftermarket DV, the stock ones can only take a certain amount of boost before bad things happen.
