Default Were is the #@$# is the MAF?

I know this sounds like a stupid question but I can't locate my MAF... I know it is supposed to be located on the right side in front of the air filter housing? Do you have to access it from under the car?? (I have a 2001 A4 B5 1.8t)

Its the black cylinder thing in the air box that has a sensor in the middle of it. There is wiring attatched to it from outside/top of the air box. A half wit could find it.

1point8 I hear you... and I have replaced MAF sensors in other cars... But swear a MAF does not exist in this car:-) Have you ever heard of a mod that provided for removal of the MAF? The Power Transistor that is supposed to be located on the top of the air box is missing also??
