Well, I bought it...but....
Today I drove home in a 1999 A4 Quattro. It's been a good ride thus far. Taken it around and showed some friends, the parents, etc...
Noticed a quirk.
When I activate the right turn signal, the headlights turn off and back on briefly, almost like a flicker, but just a tad longer "lights out" time than a flicker. I would say that the headlights turn off for about a half second then come right back on. It's almost as if they turn off when the turn signal switch is right in the position to where it clicks and stays up until the turn is made.
Activating the left turn signal does NOT make this happen.
Any ideas?
Also, the key fob doesn't work. It's kinda ratty too, so I'd like to get a new one. What's involved with that? I see them on ebay, but I don't know which one to get and where I can have it cut. Is there anything I need to be aware of regarding the wireless frequency?
Sorry for the newb questions guys.

whats up dude and good call on the 99 audi i also have one great car, as for the light situation i dont much about lights eaither but i do have a question for anyone whos reading this and knows about the lights. my high beams dont work if you flip it forward to turn them on they dont come on but if you hold it back they come on, there must be a lead disconected somewhere or something......but as for the key i just bought a new one last week off of ebay and took it to my local audi dealership and they cut it for free and also did whatever they do to make it sinc with my car. good luck and enjoy your audi bro

Hey Mac,
Nice score on the key.
One more question regarding that. My A4 came with a 2 button keyfob. Will a 3 button from ebay work with my car, or do I HAVE to get a 2 button? And will the third button (trunk or "boot" if you aren't from the U.S.) work, or will it just be a dead button?
I'm reading online about having to match up numbers and such, but I don't see any numbers on mine.
Thanks again.

thats odd on both my remotes i dont see a screw... if u got a small flat head u can stick it in the slot on the back side and it should slide apart. the glue is pretty much dried up on mine so they come appart easy.. i wanted to get new remotes too... was looking into the 3 button, i can probly reprogram the 3rd button to do something

That seems to be what's mostly available on ebay, as opposed to the 2-button remotes.
