Default Weird shifting problem

Hey all I have a 96 b5 a4 v6 Quattro automatic. so the other day I was driving and my throttle got stuck at about 1500-2000 in drive so I pulled over and left it in drive and it eventually dropped back down after a couple mins I thought maybe it was the temperature outside (-35*c)making it act up so didn't think too much of it. Then yesterday I notice that when you drive it would upshift sooner ie was going 40 and felt like it was in 5th gear with rpms around 1000. I'll be taking it to the store here in a bit and see if it still shifts early. Has anyone else experience this before?

I've had the throttle stick once on my '96, and after thorough application of WD-40 to the moving parts, have not had that occur again. But you may have a sticky Idle Control Valve.

Accelerating at light throttle, mine shifts to 5th and locks the TC at about 1,250 RPM, at 40 MPH or so. No torque at that speed with a 12V either. I've had an early shift when wide-open, which turned out to be a disconnected full-throttle switch. You might want to use VAG-COM to see that your throttle position sensor is working properly.
