Weird noise from rear of car
The past week or so my car has been making a squek or klunk sound from what sounds like the rear differential. I have already true rotating both rear wheels to front, it does do it during turns and it's happens every 5-10 seconds. I think it only happens when accelerating but I might be wrong. I have inspected both of the rubber things filled with grease (cant think of the name) and they are both fine. It doesn't happen with every wheel rotation just every few. All lug nuts are tight, any ideas?

The CV joints, and there are 4 of them back there on a Quattro. Sure they're all good?
You might also be hearing a bad driveshaft or the center bearing on the shaft. Those tend to make noise at a certain speed.
Do you only hear the sound when you are off the gas? Does it just happen with the wheel turned sharply? What more do you know about your symptoms?

The noise does not seem to happen when my foot is off the gas, it does do it when accelerating, turning, or foot on the gas. Doesn't seem to do it worse when turning or anything. I just checked all 4 cv joints and all are intact

Hard to say. Seems driveline related. If you can make it happen, drive around a parking lot with a friend sitting in the trunk. Maybe he can locate it better.
Either CV joints, drive shaft or diff. On my last B5, I had an inner rear CV joint go bad at 230,000 miles. No cut in the boot, it just gave up on me.

I had a similar issue way back in the day. I believe that I had some metal clunk noise when tapping on the gas. This happened some time ago so its hard to describe how the noise exactly occurred. But, the issue was basically a loose large bolt in the rear. It was quite apparent once I identified it. You may have to spend some time fiddling around with the parts. You don't have to jack up the car, just look back in the middle rear, under the bumper, and see if there is anything that is loose. And as you may know, I dont know what the name of the part is, but hope this helps.
