Default Wastegate question

Ok, so sadly Im still dealing with my rebuild a4, yeah its fixed, works great, but apparently is running unlimited boost. So besides the fact that I already explained why and what is most obviously wrong to my father and who is passing on the information to the mechanic (great guy, friend of ours) who is trying to get this right. They know its bad that the car is overboosting...yeah obvious. But i have to compile some info on my tuning and such for them to 'understan what we are dealing with'. Since ive done this and that [:@], yeah ive had enough.

So I was wondering when does the ko4-15 internal wastegate open? Its a mechanical function of the spring and boost pressures correct? So there is a factory setting right? (actuator is set at a certain point, along with spring rate= this much psi before release right?)

My car has run 25 psi all day before i bent 2 rods(via misfires) and after this rebuild there are all kinds of worries from my dad and the mechanic about running 25psi...on a k04 and fully built motor...exhale [&o]im tired of it already. How do i say yeah, its not good but people do it all the time with gt28rs and stock internals?

The wastegate is a 5psi spring. YOu have a motor ready for over 600whp, i wouldnt worry to much about 25psi on a ko4.

Ok, what is it like a 20mm?
I have to compile this bs research so they understand what im doing. Its a stock k04 file from giac, ive seen it run 25psi sometimes 27 with a boost leak! And apparently when they step on it, the needle on the boost gauge just keeps going (awe 25psi vent gauge) and they want to make sure that its not the software. And when i say software wouldnt do that, im told, how would you know, car is old and has never been right (boost leaks). So I assume they hooked the wastegate and n75 up correctly... but i dont know. Im trying to figure out a way to make them realize im right. [:@]

tell them to disconnect the two lines coming off the n75. it should run at 5psi. overboosting occurs when you install the n75 the wrong way

tell them its not a ford. its an audi engine designed for forced induction and can take that amount of power, tq, and psi no problem in stock form. now that you've built it, it's capable of any setup you'd throw on a 1.8L engine. not to mention the stock head is capable of spinning to 7.5k, and i dont think any one has destroyed a crank yet. these engines are very stout

Agreed. If the wastegate is disconnected then it can't overboost.
