Default VVME HID vs. Halogen (photo)

I realize that there are a lot of threads on headlights, and that I've started a couple of them, but I wanted to start this thread to show the difference between the VVME HID kit and the OEM halogens.

I put the conversion kit in over the weekend, but before I finished the job, I backed the car up a bit and took a photo of the two lights for comparison.

For those interested in where I mounted the ballasts, the one on the passenger side is bolted to the horn mounting bracket just under the passenger side headlight. For those with anything BUT the stock airbox, you have other options.

The ballast on the driver side is mounted between the power steering fluid reservoir and the ABS module....perfect fit right there.

Specs:

1999 (Pre-facelift) A4 with OEM headlight housings
VVME 4300K Conversion Kit with H7 bulbs

Clean looking B5!

Why do you have 8 holes for your front license plate?

Anyway, are you planning to go with the one piece headlights?

I thought the license plate holder only requires 3 holes from what I've seen before; not 8.

Yes, the holes are from the license plate. I'm planning to get a euro plate on my car very soon...hoping that, along with the bracket will cover those up.

@ kriptronic - I want to get a set of S4 headlights....when the budget allows.

@ bottlecap - What happened with the VVME's on your BMW?

Looks great man, I plan on upgrading to HID's in the future when i move to 1-piece headlights. For now the clear corners are gonna have to do lol.

I couldn't bring myself to drill holes in my bumper to mount my plate when i moved to VA, so i zip tied it to the lower in the center. I'll take a pic when i get home from work today, i think it looks good down there
