Vibrating while accelerating at low speeds
Hi,
I have a 1996 A4 Quattro 2.8L V6 Manual Transmission. I am having this problem for the past two days. When I shift to 1st from stationary and accelerate, the speed speed doesn't increase as expected and the RPM goes up to 2500-3000 and then the whole car vibrates. The vibration stops after 3-4 seconds and the RPM drops to 1200-1500 and the car slowly accelerates. This same thing happens for 2nd and 3rd. But not that much for 4th and 5th.
I am not sure what the problem is. Reading around I heard different opinions - problem with driveshaft, CV joints, axle, coilpacks, etc. Someone even mentioned pebbles stuck somewhere in the car.
I was wondering if anyone had a very similar problem and what was the reason for that? And how was it solved.
Thanks in advance,
Debo
