buy a 3rd party vag-com via ebay from china or hong kong for 9-15 dollars. then use the vag-com software to program all the hidden features in our B5's

I actually did it before but i think i was off a few numbers and disabled the sound but left a funny icon on my dash,i'll have to try it again

I don't have VAG-COM yet, but when I purchase it I'm going with the HEX-USB+CAN version so that I can use it on my B5 and on any future B6, B7 or B8 that may enter my life in the future. Poor Brunnhilde isn't going to last forever.

One of the things mentioned on the differences chart between the FULL and Lite versions is the amount and verbosity of the error codes. So it sounds like they suppress the amount of useful info in the codes for the Lite version.

You can't change the mileage on the cluster after it has had a few miles on it. At least not with this software. I have heard rumors that it can be done (if you know how please PM me

For the record you cannot do the windows up/down with key fob, 1 touch unlock all doors etc with VCDS-Lite. VCDS-Lite does not allow you to save when using the adaptation and recode features.
