i ran it for a week without RTV and it constantly leaked and fell on the exhaust manifold on both sides and it is not coming from the cam seals. called up a garage and they said to use that black rtv on both sides of the gasket and let it sit overnight. they also mentioned not to over tourqe the nuts to spec but just enough for the rtv to come out. i am assuming this rtv expands with heat and is designed to take higher pressures. i will let you guys know tomorrow what happens.

did you also do the cam seal? (i'm hoping that is the right name. The seals near the cam chains) i am needing to do this asap, but dont have a chain locking tool and am hesitant to loosen my cams without it to get at this little gasket. keep me updated

well that didn't fix my leak. It has to be my cam seals. I am really pissed at myself to because i was doing my t-belt change and didn't do them because they were not leaking at that moment but guess what now they are. supposedly you can make a home made depressor but i am not risking it.

That's one think I don't like about these motors. I have a leak from either the cam seal, crank seal, or intermediate shaft seal. I'd rather just deal with the leak until the next TB change than having to take the whole front of the car apart just to change a seal.
