Then you might be interested in doing a GT2871r with a T3 flange on a Full-Race tube manifold, then later on all you have to do is switch out the turbo and inlet to make more power.

Are you talking Tip transmission? Because there are others that have ran Elim kits on their Tip transmissions without a problem. Fact is that it is tq spike that kills the transmissions and the Elims actually have a softer tq spike then a K04.

As the 5 speed, I had no problems with my 9 year old 100% stock 5 speed 01A transmission while making up to 580awhp(740+chp) and that includes 9 years of drag racing with it. Blew up 3 third gears within a few months while pushing 650awhp(800+chp).

Well, starting to think I should just swap in the 2.7 biturbo. I found one not to far away that I can pick up for 1300. It's the full engine with turbo's and everything.

I'm curious what else would I need? Would I need the ECU and all that from an S4 or an A6? Also will the 2.7T be capable of making the power I'm looking for? If I go the 2.7T route it might save me enough money to really upgrade my drive train a bit.

Yeah, but the problem with the 1.8 is that when around town and what not won't really get into the power band much, it'll mostly feel like a stock 1.8T unless I drive very aggressively killing my fuel economy lol. I don't know. The 2.7T for 1300 seems like a good deal and should be a pretty straight forward swap. I'll just have to think on it more....
