Is using an older Dodge Cummins turbo a possibility?
I was kicking around at a junkyard the other day and came across a wrecked '02 Dodge Cummins turbo diesel - it had been rolled, but most of the engine components were OK.
My question:
Is the turbo off that truck usable in a "DIY"-type big turbo upgrade for a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro? I could probably get it for free.

I dontno man cause the 5.9 24 common rail didnt spool till about 2300 rpm and that is a5.9 that is pushing 320 hp and about 600 ft lbs so even if you manage to rig it up it would take alot to spool it and when it did it would tear i know when my 2004 spools it chirps through 1 and second and it is an automatic

It definitely does seem like quite a bit of work....I don't know, I might see if I can get if off the guy for dirt cheap and see if I can figure something out. I'm not particularly good with exhaust fabrication, but I know a guy who knows a guy. I'll have to ask around a bit. It sure is a tempting proposition.

it's pushing 530 with a beat to **** turbo...he is going to be making alot more power when he gets his setup the way he wants it...
honestly...for all of the custom fab/custom tuning that this setup will need, you could just get a garret big turbo setup...
alot less hastle and time...
