Default Uncut key remotes

In the process of buying a 2000 A4 but the keyless remote is on it's final legs (being held togeather by duct tape) Could I get one of these keyless remotes and have it cut and would the trunk button open the trunk?

he key is this here.

I would contact the dealer first to see if they would cut that key. I called the dealer for a quote to get a new key and they told me it would be $275 after everything and an extensive process (involves sending the key to Germany to be cut) and once its back, the dealer will program the remote for your car. or if you have a vagcom i think you can do that part on your own. I would just want to be sure that the dealer will work with this key. even though it may be "OEM" the dealer may not see anything coming from ebay as oem.

You need to get it done at the dealer. You will need your Vinn Number as well, on your insurance card. $180 a piece for my 98...

wow Audi dealers are worst then Subaru dealers... I hear some dealers do it for $30 a key and some $200 and then you say $180.

What I might do is just take the switchblade key out since it's very close to falling out and switch it over to the ebay key so theirfor I wont have to go to get another key cut.
