Default Turn signals not working

Hey i have a 99 Audi a4 2.8lqm no face lift and my turn signals have completely died. For a while they would turn off go intermittent and then turn off. Now they never turn on also my hazards do not work as well. Researching this problem it looks to be the relay in the hazard light switch. My question is in my research this problem only appeared on face lift or newer vehicles does the relay problem still apply to the non face lift. If it is the relay is there a way to fix it and then is there anywhere i can find it for less than $60.

would i be able to use a hazard light switch out of a 99 passat with a 2.8l and then switch out the cover on the relay with my current cover on mine to get it to match the interior. Would this be possible and has anyone done this?

vw part #P3030-133172
audi part #W0133-1622539

So I have the same issue with my signals not working (I haven't tried the hazards), but my A4 is a 2000. Same fix?

preface lift is any A4 B5 1996-1998,facelift is any A4 B5 1999-2001

The facelift, regards to the headlights, preface lift has 2 piece headlights, facelift has 1 piece headlights.

Actually facelift is from 99.5 and up. There are some 1999's that still have the per-facelift features.

My turn signals, started to work, intermittently and then stopped working, all together about a month ago.

I attempted the hazard switch fix and it worked for only a day and the issue returned,so i bought a new one for about 53.00 shipped, installed it and turn signals work, good as new.
