so for people that know their stuff, ive been talking to G-popshop about buying the k04 turbo they rebuild. the wheels are 1mm bigger then the k04-15 so there slightly better. i decided that wasn't enough for me and they told me they offered another upgrade that makes the turbo wheels 3mm bigger then the k04-15 and that the turbo was rated for 250 hp with proper tuning.
they said the k04 file from GIAC would work with it as well, so that would be a free upgrade for me since i already have the k03 file. so i figured with the upgraded turbo, basic k04 file, and the 034 exhaust mani put together, it would be a really nice upgrade compared to the k04-15 and i wouldn't have to go bt.
thoughts?

Yeah for that money you can get a gtrs kit minus the tune. Not sure how well a gtrs would run on a GIAC k04 file but it's gotta be similar I would think. Also once you get in the 250hp range you'll need to upgrade your clutch.

No, you'd need a gtrs specific tune. He's got an AWM, so Revo I believe is the front runner for B5 AWM/B6.

if your tryin to go the rebuilt k04 route i would look into the sp51x instead of the gpop one. with the right tuning it should hit around 275+ hp. but in all honesty saving up for a gtrs would be more worth it IMO

Exactly. By the time you put the money in for a clutch, FMIC, injectors, blah blah, you're paying for a GTRS money for a completely maxed-out K04 setup. Torquey, but workin' hard for it!

i dont know if a couple of you have read my thread exactly, i understand that a k04-15 isn't exactly worth getting. but when you make the current k04-15 and add 3mm on each wheel(turbine and compressor) and is rated at 250hp, its the same as the low end bt upgrades only you don't need all the supporting mods for it.
it seems to make sense with my budget, doing one thing a year
i would def. go elim otherwise, i just don't want to save up for another 2-3 years
