just last week my turbo was audible with just a cone filter on it and it was like that for a while now the turbo got really quiet and there is alot more lag then usuall im not blowing any white amoke or any smoke for that matter. The car has close to 100,000 miles on it. What are some opinions??

well the turbo got to about half the volume that it was and the only thing i did around the same time was change the cone filter to a clean one and changed my oil. now there is even worse turbo lag and you cant hear it anymore i have yet to check it with a boost gauge but when it finnally spools up it feel like its all there

 

when do you fell the boost?

 

close to 3 but the revs are slow to get there

 

that sounds about right but a tiny bit late, you should be feeling a little bit at 2.5. if you get a chip you won't have that problem though lol

 

im shootin for that but dont have the money yet. why would the turbo get really quiet all of a sudden tho

 

well the oil has engine oil running through it. your old oil must have been really dirty. if you get a dv better dv you should be able to hear the turbo better too. read the newbie for more info on dv.

 

yeah the oil was crazy dirty, and i was looking into a new dv like the B6 a4's have
