i dont have the 1.8T so a bad turbo and intercooler are out. When i brought it to get the codes i checked the oil and it was 2 quarts low and i was 1,000 miles away from an oil change. how would you know if you had a bad gasket

I don't think he has a bad head gasket but this is also bad and incorrect advice. Head gaskets can break in many different places and can have various consequences, only some of which you listed, but a car with a blown head gasket can have any combination of the problems. It's actually unlikely to have all of them.

no **** i didnt say it would have all off them i just gave him some of the symptoms so how is that bad advice i was just giving my input in what ive delt with for years instead of down talking my advice why dont you put your in put in? and actully its not uncommon to have most of those issues if you blow a head gasket seeing that ive seen it a million times working in a tractor trailer shop granted he dosnt have a 12.7 l cummins some of these signs may be true so like i said im not trying to be a dick but before you bad mouths someones advice take into consideration that i was just trying to give someone an idea based on my expericance

It's common to see a blown head gasket only leaking oil to the exterior, or only mixing the coolant and the oil, or only burning oil or only burning coolant, etc. What you said sounded like you were saying he needed to have all of the symptoms.
