Trouble codes on 2.8L: Crankshaft and Camshaft position sensors simultaneously
The stock 2.8L engine has been good to me, but at 112K she sputtered while at low rpm's and finally gave out. After thinking misfires, I changed coils, wires, and plugs without scanning the computer. After the swap, it still wouldn't start even though it would turn. Then I had it scanned and got two codes. I have p1392 (camshaft position sensor open/short in bank2) and a code for crankshaft sensor(which I forget) simultaneously.
Yesterday I successfully started it with a few funny noises that quickly subsided. I need to get it rescanned before I drive it, because I bet I still have those two codes. Even so, Please offer your opinions and provide some DIY information.
So I checked the procedures for checking camshaft position sensor and wiring, but the procedure was for a three prong.
Could someone post/link DIY procedures for:
1. checking the two prong cam sensor and wiring
and
2. checking the crankshaft sensor and wiring.
ALSO, is there a manual out there for the 2.8L engine? .... Links? .pdf's?
