i'm pretty sure they ride smooth above 80, but i don't have a reason to go that fast. I'm starting to think that my problem is a tooth missing in the flywheel or something cause i don't think that jerk in the car is normal. i never felt it until after my wife tried to drive it.

The ONLY thing the teeth on the flywheel are used for is the starter. Trying to start the car while running what causes that. Also it would probably make the car vibrate at about 2k rpm's.

well i let my gf drive my car for a day, and when i got it back it needed a new tranny... It wasnt really her fault, it was going to happen either way, but it happened to go when she was driving it... I havent let her forget about that one still to this day.

I would never teach someone how to drive stick in an A4 though. The clutch is too weird for a beginner.

I actually think the A4 clutch is MUCH easier. Plus the heavy fly wheel in them makes it much harder to stall too. I had a Civic that I let a friend drive to learn stick. In about a month after that the transmission went out pooring all of its fluid out onto the ground. I told her she broke it... she knew I was joking but half way believed it. I thought it was really funny and gave her **** about it for a few months.
