Trick to tightening front lower control arm onto knuckle?

I tried that allen hole this last weekend and broke 2 6mm allen sockets...

its just to hold it not tighter it. how are you breaking allen sockets? shitty sockets?

yes, HF socket...

In any case by holding the socket against the torque of the nut aren't you effectively putting half the torque on the the stud (thereby the socket)?

HF sockets will break if you look at them wrong.

are you referring to doing it normally with the allen or referring to the two nut idea?

the allen should just be for holding the ball joint from spinning, you torque the nut which will act normally as it would without holding the allen, you would have to use an open end obviously if your using an allen socket on the end but you shouldn't be torquing the allen. jus the nut.
