Question transmission pan :/

Car: Audi A4 B5 1999.5 QTTip 142k

problem: I hit a manhole cover and pierced/dented my transmission pan. So, the trans fluid is leaking (badly). the trans is still good but no fluid in it.
1 .Do i have to buy a new transmission to get that pan?
2.If i can buy that pan itself ,where can i find one? other then ebay or junkyard?
3. Can i weld the hole to stop the leak?
4. dont have to answer this ,just top of my head, ill research it later but, what covers under the cars you guys use for lowered vehicles?

Junkyard is your best bet. Why are you opposed to one?

You know how to add the fluid right? Has to be added from under the car.

you can always go to the stealership but expect to pay a premium price like usual. if its an automatic its a good chance for you to replace the automatic transmission fluid filter and gasket.

when i did my automatic tranny fluid flush i spent over 100 dollars on the fluid alone. Pentosin automatic tranny fluid was so expensive even with my wholesaler discount from the dealership.

I don't think I would of goten to the dealership, lol. I put it into drive and
Engine would rev but not move. Lol. I changed the Hawley, filter, and put 3 quarts like haynes said but I recieved 6. My gut says to use all of them. Car lags sometimes under acceleration, similar to turbo.

You tried it without fluid? That was incredibly stupid.
