Have a 98 2.8L a4 quattro avant.
After car warms up, driving down the road, I hear a clunk in the transmission and PRND432 will all light up and if I'm going the right speed, it will lock into 4th gear and not up/down shift. After it sits overnight, the car will reset and I will have all the gears for a period of time.

I had the codes checked by a Bosch certified mechanic.

P1141; Load calculation cross check
p1624: Transmission control module, check engine light malfunction
p1857: Load signal error- message from engine control
00526; brake light switch f incorrect signal
P0411: Secondary air injection system, incorrect flow
p0103; mass air flow circuit high

I also had several codes for O2 sensors and cylinder misfires and have changed the plugs and both front O2 sensors.

Any further help in fixing the tranny limp mode would be great.
