Default Tranny in Limp Mode

As I started to pull out from the driveway yesterday the tranny felt like it jumped gears and was slipping. I backed up into the driveway and pondered the situation. I have a blank selector window on the instrument panel and it would seem its stuck in maybe 4th gear or so. Reverse works fine. I had driven about 60 miles about an hour before this and everything was fine. I searched but can't find much on limp mode. I have a cel but didn't have my laptop to scan it with. I had my son scan it with a cheap scanner I had in the trunk and he came up with two codes.

1. Supply Voltage
2. Request warning lamp be switched on Open circuit/short to positive

Other than check the ECU fuse and remove the negative battery terminal to reset the computer what else might I look at? I have to travel 30 miles to get to the car to try these fixes. I will take my lap top with me. I have a cable and I think Ver. 409 Vag Com. Its the Quattro in my sig. I just put a new battery in it last week

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest scanning with your VAG-COM then report back as that will give you/us more details to work with.
