Interesting it really didn't look to hard to replace, when I saw it, but it did require you to really get under the car. The part cost 1300, from the dealer...yeah insane, and that is for the whole setup, front and rear and that littlejoint in the middle. My mechanic was surprised to, because he couldn't find it anywhere else, and the dealer only sells the whole setup only. It basically looks like this one I found on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-02...spagenameZWD1V, but honestly i have had to many issues with used parts so i decided to go new. Plus that one is for a manual tranny anyway.

Oh yeah just incase your wondering the problem with mine is that the u joint you see in the middle, well...there is rubber in it which keeps the shaft from banging on the sides but still gives it a little play. Well, the rubber in mine is all corroded and gone, which is where the clunking sound is coming from. Unfortunatlelly i guess you just can't replace the middle piece.

I bought the parts and rebuilt my driveshaft and it ended up being more expensive and more hassle than taking it to a driveshaft rebuilding outfit. They could get the parts cheaper than I could and they know what they are doing. They would have charged me about $500.00 as opposed to $1500.00 at the dealer for a brand new shaft. The u-joint needs a runnout within about 0.002" to 0.003" whichcan behard to do. I had or made the tools but it was a pain.It is important that when installed the shaft is installed and aligned correctly or it will cause problems. There is a tool required for the job. B.
