tip clicking noise when down shifting
hey whats up fellow b5ers? i just bought a 99.5 avant 2.8 tiptronic, and every time i down shift into 2nd or 1st i hear a pretty loud clicking type noise from the drivetrain... any idea what this could be? or did i miss the memo that says no downshifting into those gears... this is my first b5 audi, so any helpful tip would be awesome.. thanks in advance.
p.s. wtf is the button on the pillar behind the drivers seat for???

my tip diesnt make any noise (I think) but ill see tomorrow. You can shift as you please so no worries. What type of sound? (screech, clunk, grind, whine) and the button disables the interior motion sensor for the alarm.

yea dude its def not normal. its like a clicking/grinding noise. sounds like it might be axles to me for some reason. but im not very familiar with these cars yet so its just a guess. does anyone know if that might be possible?
