timing service..
ok so.. my a4 just rolled over 90k and i got the ultamate timing kit from ecs tuning im doing my service myself this afternoon. my question is it came with 3 liters of g12 coolant and i am doing new water pump and thermostat so all new coolant, do i deed to mix it with water or just all g12 cuz it just doesnt seem like enough to fill block and radiator with just 3 liters.

what he ^ said. if youre in a REALLY cold climate, you can up the mixture to 50/50 (3.5 litres of each), but that will obviously require that you buy another bottle of G12.
take your time and follow the DIY instructions and you'll be fine. when i bought my car i drove it directly home and did the timing belt/water pump before it even left my garage again. i would rather change my timing belt 10 more times than have to deal with rusty control arm bolts ever again lol

I finished my service last night, everything went very smooth. the car sounds ALOT smoother suprisingly. I was always told the aeb had a rough sounding idle like a mild rattle but after the new tensioner and roller it sound amazing like silent when its running. I live in boulder colorado so the weathers not cold at all i did the 2 bottles g12 and 3, 1.5liters of distilled water and seems fine with the new thermostat and water pump it doesnt even reach the halfway (warmed) up mark on the temp gauge.
