Default timing belt went bad

My timing belt went bad on the freeway today... the belt still has tension but when I crank it the cam is not moving. My question is will I need a rebuilt head and around much am I looking at?

You're looking at bent valves. You'll either need a functional used head or to rebuild yours. Not sure on the cost.

Yeah thats what I figured, pulling the head tomorrow. After reading some of the other post I am a little concerned about the pistons.
Thanks for the reply

With some new valves and other bits like head bolts you should be able to get it done for under $500 including the machine shop work. Find a shop that is familiar with multi valve heads. The pistons are probably fine. You'll know right away. If all you see is little 'smiles' on the tops of them you are good. Bigger dents may require more work or new pistons.

That doesn't sound too bad, should save some money doing the work myself. Looking for a good machine shop now.
I will post some pics when the head is off.

Well looks like I bent all the exhaust valves and 2 intake valves, none of the piston look overly damaged this one seems to be the worst one. The exhaust manifold has 2 cracks where the turbo mounts.....off to the junkyard.

I think you're OK on those pistons. Just make sure there aren't any sharp edges that would create a hot spot. Round off those gashes a little if there are.
