timing belt question (MN ?)
hey everyone, ive had my car since june last year, so im getting close to that 1 year mark (so im not a noob anymore) and have not had a single problem with my car : )
(kinda surprises me being that i bought it at a real sketchy place for cheap and the guy said that "once i drive it out of the parking lot even if it explodes its not their problem " )
but anyway i was looking at doing my timing belt once the weather gets warm again. (looking to do it the weekend of may 15th when finals get over ah)
so i was looking for a good, reputable kit to buy (and of course being in college im looking to get a good deal on it)
anyone have any recommendations on where they bought theirs?
i searched and found that people buy them from ECS tuning a lot,
http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...productID=1342
i found this one for $284 which seems very resonable, but does this have everything that i should be doing?
i also found this one at mjm autohaus too for $269
http://www.mjmautohaus.com/catalog/p...oducts_id=2847
any other recommendations i should look for? or things i should do at the same time?
also... since i have never done one before, i was kinda curious if anyone wanted to lend me a hand with this thats from MN and has done (atleast) one before? I could pay you like $100 or $150 CASH to help (and a case of my favorite beer too ha) or something.
I just dont want to send it to a shop to do it and spend $900 and not even get to see whats being done... i want to help / do the work cause i think i will learn a lot (and i also will be replacing my front drivers side fender, as this would be a good time since you need to take the front bumper off to do this )
sorry this got really long. thanks for all the help. i love this car and i love that smiley face for some reason it always makes me laugh
my car is a 1.8tqm with (yes i know this is bad for waiting) 107k on the ticker
