Timing belt question(99 a4)
Looking to pick up a 99 a4 quattro 2.8 this upcoming weekend. It seems to be well maintained, but they dont have many service records. The car has 174km. Just wondering when the timing belt had to be done and if i should be concerned? From researching lots of people say around 130k is when they are replaced but is there a possibility it couldve lasted this long and im purchasing a ticking time bomb?
Any help appreciated!

Who told you 130k miles? Recommended interval is 60k-90k. At 174k miles you should be on #3 by now. I tell everyone this:
If there are no receipts proving that the work was done, assume it wasn't. If you're still on your second or, by some act of god, first timing belt, it should be changed as soon as possible.

Ahhh gotcha, that makes sense now. I thought you were abbreviating thousand miles as km. Google tells me 130k kilometers is about 80k miles, so that sounds about right. I would still replace it.
