Any recommendations for a mechanic to do a timing belt change in the Pittsburgh PA area?

I bought a pristine 2001, but after reading up on it, I'm not sure that the timing belt was ever done.

Depends on where you want to go and how much you want to pay.

Sewickley Audi -dealer will be more expensive, but they're good.

Next Level Tuning- Greensburg, PA. VW/Audi Tuning Shop-They did a timing belt job for me for cheap.

Weirton Collision Center-Colliers, WV (~40 mins. outside of Pittsburgh). They specialize in Audi and actually put in a whole new engine for me.

There's also Day Audi in Monroeville, PA and South Hills Audi in Washington, PA

Hi Shawn,

thanks for the info. Sewickley is fairly close to me, but I probably don't have the budget for them.

How long did it take Greensburg to do the job? Can it be done same day? What is 'cheap'?

Actually - from this end of town, Weirton might be closer than Greensburg.

Thanks!

Sewickley will cost probably around $1,000-$1,500. They're fast and all work will be warranted.

Greensburg will probably be around $400-$800

and Weirton will probably be around the same amount $400-800 although you'll have to call and check.

When I went to Greensburg they did do it the same day, but it took pretty much all day. Greensburg, in my opinion, is pain to get to with the parkway traffic and Greensburg itself is hard to navigate.

To get to Weirton, all you do it take Route 22 to the Collier's Way exit make a few turns and you're there. (If you can get to the Robinson Mall area/Post Gazette Pavillion, you can get to Weirton.)

Personally, I'd choose either Sewickley or Weirton.
You can always call and ask quotes.

Unfortunately that is in no way a job I would tackle myself. I'm located right outside Boston if you know of anyone in case it does need to be done. I talked to the dealership that sold it a year ago and have to get back to them with the VIN and hopefully they have a record of it since he says they told him it was done. He bought it from a large BMW dealership so hopefully they have good records. Even if it was 20k miles ago, I just want to know when it was done so I know when it will need one.
