Throttle Body Hose Slips Off! HELP!
Hello All,
I have an '04 1.8T (109K miles). Recently (3 weeks ago) had the turbo replaced with a new K03. Since this service, I've noticed much more "whistling" noise coming from under the hood when accelerating (not nearly as audible when revving the engine in neutral). Also, (not sure if this is related to the "whistling) I actually had the throttle body hose come detached while driving on the freeway....not a fun experience!.. ) I've tried securing the hose clamp back on to the TB many many times, but it always slips down from the TB after driving the vehicle once again. Is the "whistling" caused from a vacuum leak going into the TB? Or, is there possibly a vacuum leak somewhere else that is causing the throttle body hose slippage and "whistling" turbo?? Also, it seems like the turbo charge occasionally surges as I accelerate quickly? I have to think there is some sort of vacuum/pressure issue. Any advice you can provide will be GREATLY appreciated.

To keep yer hoses where they're supposed to be, you're prolly gonna want to upgrade to t-style clamps instead of the regular screw-style hose clamps. You can really crank down on them. Another trick I've seen is to hit the inside lip of the offending hose with some hair spray. When it dries it'll get nice and tacky and help keep things in place.
I suggest you fix that first, then do a vac leak test to help you find any boost/vac leaks. Don (chocolate starfish) just wrote a DIY thread for this, its in the DIY section.
EDIT: Also, just noticed you said '04. This is the B5 forum, for 1996-2001.5 A4's. Just FIY

Ah, sorry for posting in the wrong forum but appreciate your advice nonetheless! I installed the T-bolt clamp and the hose now stays in place. Looks like I didnt need a $150 TB hose afterall. Thanks!
