Newb here. Owned our 01 A4 for 1 -1/2 years now. Need to do the timing belt, but we've had good luck with ours. Had to have the whiplash restraint replaced on the rear seatbelt & one of our headlamp washer nozzles replaced. Cuurrently have the check engine light on. Happened before & was the vaccuum hose for the turbo had broke. Turbo isn't kicking in now, so I'm checking that out now. Of course the center LCD display! I'm in total agreement with mamankyle. Living in the northwest I have total peace when my wife is on the snowy roads. (Still worry about the other knuckleheads who don't know how to drive on dry pavement let alone snowy/icy ones!) Sweet forum, looking forward to picking brains & posting picks of upgrades - if she'll let me!

Where can I start....
111K - ABS module replaced, airbag light constantly on
114K - stock turbo went bad, timing belt, water pump, and wheel bearing in the rear, new brakes up front.
120K - front suspension replaced, coolant flange broke, new clutch and flywheel
130K - rear brakes replaced, rear driver side caliper froze
145K - plugs replaced, rear spring broke (H&R Race springs)

Also I do know the lower door trim sucks, mine rusted off so I just had them all removed and lowers painted. My cruise control is broken, drivers seat worn to hell. Thats all I can think of for now haha

I had my right rear wheel bearing replaced in Jan of 06 and the drivers side a year later. Now I think the right rear is going out again! I know they go out fast, but is that too fast?

I've had 2 1.8t b5's ( no i haven't learned)

the first, 98 passat, has had n75, catalytic converter, coolant temp sensor, entire abs assembly, fuel pump, AND my cruise has never worked. this is all since i bought it with 206k on it and the car only has 265k on it now.....lol

2nd b5 is my current 99.5 a4 with 175k
cruise hasn't worked since i got it, its the stalk switch, (same as the passat) incidentally, i have a spare cruise module for sale...PM me if interested....lol
another catalytic converter( i think I'm jinxed for them...i have owned 7 vehicles, and have replaced 5 cats, well , i have replaced with straight pipe, 4 cats, only replaced 1)
and my airbag light is on, (BTW, MYa4T from page 2, the airbag light is caused by the connector in the drivers side seat back losing contact, mine is on right now, i am replacing the seat cushion leather this fall, and i will fix it then, but all you need to do is cut out the connector, and splice in a length of wire in its place, tape it up real good and put it all back together, viola, light off!) also, another coolant temp sensor, and the hazard switch, i think thats all........LOL ( for now......)
