Is there supposed to be water in here?
Alright guys, I'm not usually this clueless about car stuff, but I'm new to the whole Audi/turbo thing.
I was replacing the timing belt/water pump/other fun stuff on my girlfriend's B5 not too long ago (oh what a fun day that was) and while I was taking the front end apart I noticed that the black pipe that bolts to the frame (the big horizontal tube on the bottom of the picture) was full of water. I loosened a hose clamp on the driver's side and some water came out. Is this normal? Should there be water in there?

No there should not be water there and I have no idea how it could get there. Thats the piping that goes from the turbo to the side mount intercooler which later goes to the intake mani. Was it alot of water? maybe it was condensation.

Yea it was a little scary. It did not seem as if the water was supposed to be in there. There was a good cup full of water that came spilling out before I reconnected the hose... I will go drain the rest out asap. Thanks!!
