Is there any way to lookup radio code besides going to stealership?
So, my journey of getting my radio to work continues. I got the radio out (pretty easily with a tweezers) and called my local Audi stealership to find out what I need to bring to get my code. "Ya bring the car and the radio, its about $120"! WTF!!!!! For $120 or a little more, I can get a decent aftermarket stereo with an input for my mp3 player, too. Money is a little tight now, so if there's some other way to get the code, that would help me out a lot. If not, I'm going to put something else in the car.

I don't know where else you would get it unless you find the card that came with the car. You can buy a new OEM radio from ecs tuning for dirt cheap (like $40).

Thanks a lot, at the end of the thread that you linked to, they mention calling Audi USA (don't know why I didn't think of that!) and giving them the VIN # and radio serial # and getting the code. I just got off the phone with them and got the code! Now, I just have one more hurdle to get over, I have to wait for the hour for my SAFE mode to reset so I can re-enter the code. We'll see if it works. Thanks again!

i talked to the dealership when i had this problem, they have to physically remove the head unit from the car in order to determine your radio code, its not attached to the vin number.... thankfully i still had the original paperwork and manuals in my car so i had the radio code... i say just buy a new radio dude
