Default Test Pipe Installed and Non Fouler... CEL still on tho... HELP!!

Alright, i just installed my test pipe and non-fouler after my Cat-Convertor broke off the welds from the flange connected to the turbo..... My check engine light came on before the install more n likely because its wasn't getting any exhaust flow.... But now i jus installed the test pipe and non-fouler, but its still on.....

How long does it take for the CEL to go off after the install??? Or how can i reset the CEL????

If you are wondering which non fouler i bought, this is the one.....

did you clear the code and it came back, or it is still on from the original problem? if it's STILL on then take it somewhere and have the code cleared, or disconnect your battery for about 30 minutes and that will do it. If you have a factory radio and don't have the code for it don't disconnect the battery though.

if you clear it and it comes back have it scanned and see if it's the same problem...

Hope it helps,
Ryan

the non fouler trick is not a guarenteed thing, it can take several attempts of clearing the code and hoping it sticks the next time before it acutally works. I cleared the code on my mazda 5 times before it stuck its been about 20k since my last code wipe for that issue however so it does work

I never cleared the code.... I did disconnect the battery but only for like... 5mins... I did this yesterday, but today umma let it sit for like an hour.... I thought the code would clear after the install on its own..

You actually have to clear the codes with a scanner, the battery trick doesn't work on Audis. I got a cel for about a day every month for about 6 months. Now I don't get a cel anymore.

buy some spark plug spacers from autozone and attach them between the testpipe and the O2 sensors. If CEL returns after installing one spacer put the second one on as well. Two should definately take care of it for good. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

the o2 monitor is continuous so there's no need to clear the code. You just have to give it time to clear.
