Test drove a B7 today....my B5 pwns it!
So I went to the local Audi/BMW stealership today, and test drove a B7 and a BMW 135I.
The B7 was a 2005.5, and the steering was uber power steering, not as much communication with the road as my B5. Also, it was a 2.0T. The torque was nice, but it was either too little or two much. Not smooth at all like my 2.8L V6.
By comparison, my 12 yr. old B5 was smoother and had a much better communication with the road. I was not impressed with the 2.0 T at all.
The BMW 135I was amazing, and blew the doors off of the B7. But it's RWD, so it's not really a fair comparison.
All in all, good old Brunnhilde felt much better when I got back into her to drive home. Even my wife said that she liked my B5 so much better than the B7.
What did Audi do to the steering in the B7? It felt very light and extremely powered. No communication at all with the road.
It makes me think that all those control arms and tie rod ends in the B5 are worth it.

The b5 is just so... Perfect.
Its small like a sports car, its big enough to have 4 doors. Its quick, compfy. And its got that sleeper look to it without looking like a grocery getter. Not to mention all of that said, gas mileage is not half bad, even with a turbo!
So I see no reason to ever part ways.

amen to thAT its got hidden power sleeper status
normally when people see and evo or sti the y know it has power and they wont take their shitty ricer and try to race it but yet they will try to have a go at an audi because they don't know what it is. they are probabaly like **** it man i have a (insert honda or other choice here) i can take this. Only to discover half the a4s out there have more power than 3 of their hondas under their hood. They think the body makes a car fast.
i love the b5 look its so clean looking
