Default Tail light question

Just made the switch from VW and bought my first A4. After getting it home I see that I have a tail light out on the passenger side. So off to the store to buy a new bulb, and still no luck. I got the right type of bulb with the dual filament and the brake light still works but no luck getting the tail to work. I dont think it is a fuse because it looks like it would cause both tails to be out. Is this a common problem I just haven't heard of yet? I tried to search but found nothing so far. Thanks for any help.

Never heard of it before. Just for my amusement can you take a pic with the tail lights on so I can see exactly. I know it sounds stupid but I kinda have a theory...

yeah no problem, do you want a picture of the lights from the outside or of the bulb holder so you can see the actual bulbs?

Out side whole rear of car lights on. Also did you make sure the new bulb filaments were good?

The first picture is with flash, so it looks like both have light just one is brighter, the second picture is without flash so its hard to see but you can tel that the driver side is lit but the passenger side is not.

And yeah I checked the filaments, I was thinking that too so I switched the driver side with the passenger side and still no luck, switched it back and it worked. I'm thinking it is either something with the bulb holder or wiring somewhere

The left and right fuse for the tail lights are different. Check that first!

BTW - when you're looking at the uses chart, it won't say "tail light" but it will say something a long the line of left side/right side. Basically you won't really think the fuses are for the tail lights. Sorry I can't recall what they exactly say.

You sir are my hero for the day. I looked at that chart and saw the one fuse for taillights but missed the other two small 5 amp fuses for left and right. Sure enough, pull the left side and its blown to hell. If you are ever in the Virginia area, a round of beer is on me.
