Fabbing a proper turbo setup would definitely be more money and effort. I wasn't talking about some half assed rear mount or something. I'm talking full on, intercooled and externally wastegated with internals and custom manis all around.

the block is somewhat similar, but sleeved to handle the power/boost. thats pretty much where the similarities end. the 2.7tt uses different heads, different exhaust manifolds, and a completely different intake set up.

Okay I wasn't sure. Would would need to be done to the motor for it to take more boost?
As far as the cost of the setup I don't want to half *** it and I don't want to cost alot and that is tuff to do. The SC seems to be an easier installation because all that would need to be done is a re arrangement of things and a bracket to hold the SC.
I am not to worried about the stuff listed above but my main concern doing this is how to tune it and acquire the proper the electronic and computer software to run it.

Assuming a base of 15PSI for N/A, say you do +20PSI on a 1.8, then you effectively have about 1.8 * (15+20)/15 = 4.2L of N/A displacement. At +10PSI on 2.8L, you have about 2.8 * (15+10)/15 = 4.67L of N/A displacement... with wayyyyy more effort. If supercharged, you will have more low end, but it can eat up to ~25% of your overall power... So, yes, 1.8 is a good suggestion, IMO.

Yes it isn't the first time that someone has mentioned to me to get a 1.8L. I am a broke college student right now and have no money to sell mine and then get a 1.8. I am very happy with my 2.8 and would much rather keep it and do something different to it.
I am starting a part time job next semester with the company I worked with over the summer and should be bringing in 150 dollars a week. Over the next semester I want to start getting my ducks in a line so when it comes to start the project I am well aware what might happen and what needs done.
I understand what a SC can do and the negative affects of using one but it is something that can be done on a 2.8L and the cost savings to do a SC compared to a turbo and to do it at a professional quality the SC should be a cheaper build and personallly I would rather have more low end tourqe than high end.
